Earlier this month I had the opportunity to spend a day at McLaren’s press event in Surrey. It was an early start, arriving before the light shifted, which always makes a difference with automotive work. These cars are designed to look exceptional, and the brief was to capture that in a way that felt both editorial and usable for campaign material.
The challenge with press day shoots is managing the environment. Multiple photographers, controlled access, and a tight schedule mean preparation is everything. Having done similar shoots for Morgan and Goodwood, the approach was familiar: move quickly, know your angles, and don’t miss the window when the light is right.
